Services

I love helping people go through the process of accessing which areas of school life are their strengths and what are the needs. Together, we make goals so that your student can experience the joy that comes from knowing what to do… and how to do it.

I work with students from 6th grade, all the way up to [and through] college.

Middle School, High School, and College Students come to me if they are:

  • Stressed out

  • Disorganized

  • Overwhelmed

  • Behind academically

When learning and school life is out of whack, you don’t know what to do. You don’t know where to start. I help people learn how to ‘do school’ in a different way.

ADHD

ADHD manifests itself differently in every student. Two typical characteristics of ADHD, however, are hyperactivity and spacing out. Yet, there is so much more to it. Neuro-biological factors plus years of being told you’re messing up makes it really hard to do things right.

Executive Function

Schools rely on students having solid executive function to move through the day. Students who struggle with executive function find the rules of school exceptionally hard. Often, they don’t know how to approach their work so they get in trouble instead.

Dyslexia

Dyslexia creates a barrier for students to have access to information because of all the time spent on skills like decoding. Often, the focus needs to shift to ask the question: What do you need to help you access information?

If you work with me, you will:

  • Understand what’s holding you back

  • Learn the skills you need to get things done

  • Find the resources within yourself

Understand how you learn, get the support you need

In order to do these things quote

My key beliefs:

  • Labels are limiting.

  • Talking about it helps.

  • Being accountable is key.

  • Knowledge is liberating.

  • Support makes the difference.

Understand how you learn, get the support you need

Your son or daughter will be able to say:

“I now have the confidence to do it myself.”

“I was capable all along.”

“I feel like I am being successful at what I’m trying to do.”

“I’m not stuck.”

“I feel like I know what to do, where to start, and if I don’t, I know who to ask.”

Consultation with Parents

Does my student need to be evaluated? How can this evaluation help my student? What kind  of support should I be looking for as my daughter goes to high school? How can my son find the right support in college? You want your student to get what s/he needs to thrive but sometimes are afraid to ask--or worse, don’t know who to ask. I don’t replace the services at your school. Instead I’ve learned how to look at offer a neutral opinion and expertise to help you navigate your child’s educational journey.
